The first Zagreb beverage factory (Mihić and Sabljić) is founded, which Franjo Pokorny buys and establishes the Franjo Pokorny factory, a royal privileged Zagreb joint-stock factory of liqueurs, Croatian fruit distillates and vinegar. This exceptional entrepreneur and author of the famous Pelinkovac very quickly expands his business to numerous European markets, and thanks to the exceptional quality of the products, they are also drunk at the French imperial court of Napoleon III, and he also begins the production of Lavov, Šljivovica…

Zagreb entrepreneur and wine merchant Mijo Arko founds the Arko factory, which is taken over by his brother Vladimir. Arko spirit factory and refinery, foam factory, liquor factory, ether and chemical products factory, wine and fruit distillate wholesaler, wine and brandy wholesaler, equipped with the most modern technology, which was engaged in the production of alcoholic beverages.

The Badel family in Sesvete founds the Zeste Agricultural Fishery.

After the end of II. After the Second World War, the Patria, Pokorny and Baker alcoholic beverage factories merge into the Zagreb Liquor and Wine Factory. Two years later, the Zagreb Liqueur Factory and Plemenika (formerly “Arko”) merged into a new company – Tvornica Likera i Vinarstvo.

The factory is named “Marijan Badel”, the liquor industry and refinery after the national hero and son of the founder of the Badel Brothers distillery and vinegar production.

In the next eight years, RO Badel includes 2,800 workers with the production of 43 million liters of strong alcoholic beverages, 31 million liters of wine, 22 million liters of soft drinks, 98 million liters of mineral water and mineral water-based beverages and 12 million liters of vinegar.
